To celebrate the 70th edition of the Total 24 Hours of Spa we asked Belgian motoring artist Clovis to draw us some of the most iconic cars that helped write the history of the Belgian endurance classic.

There had been Nissans (or Datsuns in the early days) at the start in Spa before, but they were never really in contention for the overall honours. So when in 1991 Japanese squad Team Zexel brought its Skyline GT-R to the Belgian Ardennes, nobody expected it to win.
They should have known better. ‘Godzilla’, as the car was affectively known, proved to be a very powerful machine and the Skyline of Anders Olofsson, Naoki Hattori and David Brabham crushed the competition, beating the second placed Porsche by 21 laps.
